jim Ashley Judd's hotitude doesn't make sense. She's related to Wynonna and Naomi Judd for crap's sake! Hollywood's hottest ass kicking chick plays the single mom, the young wife, and a slew of other easy to be stereotypical roles and winds up beating the shit out of the enemy and convention. She doesn't wait around for her male "hero", to rescue her. She escaped kidnappers in KISS THE GIRLS and a whack job husband in DOUBLE JEOPARDY. She stood by her man in HEAT and her children in WHERE THE HEART IS. She even made the miserable EYE OF THE BEHOLDER watchable, if only for her accessible beauty and deceptively sharp acting prowess. Last year, when she broke out her romantic comedy chops in SOMEONE LIKE YOU, she pulled that one off as well. Never taking the easy way, even her simply written character was heighten by her innate strength and screen presence. She continues to prove herself one of the most versatile actresses in Hollywood. Mother, warrior, lover, bitch. I have had my eye on Ashley for years and do not miss a single one her films. I'm pretty pumped about her new release HIGH CRIMES, where she is reteamed with KISS THE GIRLS co-star Morgan Freeman, again the film doesn't look good from the previews, but none of her movies ever do. Somehow, she manages to be the force that takes these silly looking flicks and makes them solid and rewatchable, or at least better than they deserved to be. Let's us not forget when discussing Ashley's particular brand of movie magic, that she is also a Grade A DangerSeekers approved big ball of smoking hot hotness.  |
