DEBORAH TUCKER, WE SALUTE YOU!

THE LIFE AND TIMES OF A LIVING DOLL

"Haji is SO dead!"

Were does one begin when trying to summarize the career of the woman voted America's 133rd Favorite Redhead? That's right, 133rd, placing just behind "Head of the Class" star Krystyne Haji, yet just a full thirty-two places ahead of Bette Midler. Let's start at the begining...To hell with that, let's start with what I can remember...

In the days of the eighties, when the family oriented sitcom ruled the airwaves, there was only one way to assure yourself of a hit. Introduse a loveable charactor on an already established show and create what we lovingly refer to as a spin-off. One of these such spin-offs came to being when studio execs decided to cash on the powerhouse hit "Who's the Boss?". They introduce some little Italian troublemaker on the show and then send her off to modeling school in, that's right, "Living Dolls". Incredoudly, "Living Dolls" (really just a hottie version of "Facts of Life") didn't live up to the success of it's predesessor. It did however bring to our attention (or my attention) the mega-hot Deborah Tucker, as Blair...I mean the rich, snobby girl.

Deborah parlayed her role on "Living Dolls" into a storm of other work including one season on "Dallas", Christina Applegate's hot friend in "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" and some other crappy B-movies that I own. The last film we could find for her was 1994's "Eye of the Storm" starring Jeff Conaway and Connie Selleca. Deborah is also a graduate of Boston University and an accomplished amateur iceskater.

If you want a biography, go somewhere else, pal. This is just a salute.

DEBORAH TUCKER
Career Highlights

LIVING DOLLS (1989)

As Caroline Weldon, Deborah ruled the show with bitchy humor. Sadly, the premise of aspiring young modles living with their professionally savvy mentor never really caught on with the television audience. The show crashed and burned and was cancelled after one season. Not even the occasional apperance by "Who's the Boss" teen queen Alyssa Milano could save them. Deborah may not have moved on to superstardom, but, hey where are her TV co-stars now? Halle Berry, Leah Remini, Alison Elliot? Never heard of 'em.

DALLAS (1991)

I've never actually seen an episode of "Dallas", but Deborah was on it...anyway I'm really just trying to pad her career highlights.

MEATBALLS 4 (1992)

This movie is embarrasing even by the standards of stars Corey Feldman and Jack Nance. I mean the thing relies on an "I've fallen and I can't get up" joke! Anyway, Deborah plays the camp cutie that Feldman is determined to win over, somehow...using his not-charm. Lots of people get naked, not Deborah though, we love her anyway.
